Frequently asked questions

What does your company do?
We produce electronic media to distribute information. We started out making corporate and broadcast video for high-tech companies in Silicon Valley over 15 years ago. Over the years we have added editing suites, multimedia production and web development to our abilities. We have a large client base in the following areas: hardware, software, networking, medical products, consumer products and governmental agencies.
Why should we hire you and your crews?
Few companies combine our depth of experience, creativity, ethics, and care for the client. Independent Productions takes pride in managing every detail on a project. Everything is done in-house, from concept to script, shooting, graphics, animations, programming, editing and final delivery of product. Many well-known corporations have established and maintained working relationships with our staff. Our experience, reputation, and professionalism lead to calls from major corporations and network television shows.
How much does production cost?
Projects are quoted on a case-by-case basis. What CNN needs or can pay for may well be beyond your needs. We can quote full productions from script through shooting and editing, or just quote à la carte portions of the above. For multimedia or web work, we can produce video segments and animations or graphics, or quote on entire projects.
Are you familiar with technical projects?
Independent Productions has produced media for training on highly technical concepts in Silicon Valley, as well as producing emergency medical films where the quality of the training means saving lives.
Can we get this video on the Web or use it on a CD-ROM?
Yes. We can digitize to .AVI, Quicktimetm, Quicktime for Windowstm, .MPEG and other familiar formats. We optimize file size according to your delivery system.
Why should I pay for BetacamSp if the project will end up on VHS or on the Web?
"Garbage in, garbage out" is a familiar concept to most computer professionals. The higher the quality of your original footage, the less degradation you see when you change, duplicate, or compress the video. We start with the highest possible quality so that loss during duplication and digitizing shows as little as possible.
The project has to go to Japan, China and Germany.
No problem! We maintain close relationships with native speakers and translators to ensure accurate international presentations. We support all foreign tape formats.
